To select the right orthotic for your patient there are 3 factors to take into consideration:
Orthotic Density
Factors such as the amount of pronation, the patient’s weight and other existing medical conditions (such as diabetes) must be considered when selecting the appropriate density.
Below is a general guide:
The style of footwear which the orthotic will be worn in is also an important consideration.
The 2/3 length ICB Orthotic is best used in regular walking shoes and most men’s dress shoes.
Full Length ICB Orthotics are best suited to sports shoes and workboots.
The Dress* Style Orthotic can be used for patient with very wide feet, as the lateral cut-away will allow the foot to splay naturally. The Dress* style can also be used in narrow fitting shoes.
