Low Dye Strapping
1. Measure tape to foot from 5th MPJ to 1st MPJ.
2. Tape from lateral to medial
3. Then apply 2nd length starting at 5th MPJ and covering 1/2 of the first piece of tape
.
4. Split tape as shown for figure-of-eight.
5. Start at dorsal surface over 5th MPJ.
6. Take tape under plantar surface and around
heel.
7. Cross Over and finish at 1st MPJ.
8. Rest foot against leg in neutral position. Anchor on dorsal surface. Must be loose to allow movement, but to secure tape.
9. Triangular System Anchor - 1st to 5th under ball of foot, forefoot plantar surface.
10. Place 3 strips of tape starting at forefoot and working to heel.
11. Use palm of hand to create arch with the "triangular shaft".
12. Anchor by applying 3 pieces of tape under the longitudinal arch from medial to lateral on the plantar surface.
13. Ask Patient to walk and notice how the strapping "controls" the arch and foot as a whole.
